What's This About?
Hello, I'm so glad you've found your way to this site! I'm a Christian from East Tennessee and this site is a product of an idea sparked in a bible study while discussing ways we can witness and show Christian love to others. With COVID and evolving technology affecting how people communicate in the last few years, I thought a website and associated cards could be an added way to witness. While I know this site is not a replacement for face-to-face conversation, I feel it could be a helpful way to open the lines of communication.
Something that always stuck with me is a quote from self-professed atheist Penn Jillette from the magician duo Penn and Teller. A few years ago, he made a video describing a fan witnessing to him after one of his shows. In the video, Penn stated:
“…How much do you have to hate somebody to not proselytize? How much do you have to hate someone to believe everlasting life is possible and not tell them that?”
In other words - if we love others and we believe the Gospel, we should share it, even if it’s socially awkward sometimes. While Mr. Jillette is still an atheist, he did profess his respect for the fan and how that person kindly witnessed to him and gave him a bible.
The primary aim of this site is to serve as an information hub for people who maybe aren't sure what they believe. I want to provide materials that will help others think about responses to common questions. In addition, a form is available where users can ask questions and submit prayer requests privately.
My secondary aim is to provide churches, youth groups, and individual believers with supplemental resources for witnessing. There are files and printable resources for the GodIsFor.Us cards that point people to this site.
I hope this site will be a blessing and a starting point for someone's lasting relationship with the God of this universe - the Lord Jesus Christ! If it helps just one person, it's worth it. Always remember, you're precious to God and He loves you!
